Mariska is a tax specialist with extensive experience in mining tax. After completing her articles at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, she started her tax career as a corporate tax consultant at KPMG, specialising in mining tax. In 2011, she joined Xstrata South Africa as Group Tax Manager: Direct Tax. She joined Platmin South Africa and Pilanesberg Platinum Mines in 2014 as Group Tax Manager.
Having a passion for mining tax consulting and realising that there is a significant gap in the market for affordable, but experienced mining tax consultants, Mariska left the corporate environment in 2016 to pursue a career in independent tax consulting focusing on the mining industry.
